On Saturday, April 28th, North American gaming organization, Splyce pulled themselves out of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) scene with immediate effect. Splyce CEO Marty “Lazerchicken” Strenczewilk explained the situation in a Twitter video:
The team has been in the CS:GO scene since December 2015, when they were known as followeSports.com before re-branding with the name Splyce. They’ve had mixed results in the North American scene, currently placed 11th out of 12th in the North American ESL Pro League standings. The height of Splyce’s Counter-Strike run was qualifying for the MLG Columbus 2016 major after qualifying for it by taking TyLoo’s place at the qualifier, following Visa issues with the asian team. Aside from the accomplishment of making the major, the lineup hasn’t produced promising results.

SEMPHIS and co. are looking for a new organization
While the North American roster has no doubt lost touch with a great gaming organization in Splyce, it will be nice to get a fresh gaming organization in the North American CS:GO scene.
The following questions will be answered in the coming weeks: could this be Echo Fox’s big return to Counter-Strike? Will this Splyce roster stay together with a different organization? Will a Mountain Dew Premier League team be moved up to the pro scene? Could Evil Geniuses North American organization break into CS:GO? Will the team continue with no organization for the remainder of the ESL Pro League season? We hope this former Splyce lineup sticks together under a new organization, but it is hard to predict what will happen in the North American pro scene moving forward.
